Cela devient moins drôle lorsqu'un malfrat venu d'Angleterre vole leur toute dernière idée, l'exécute avec succès et les menace de les livrer à la police s'ils refusent de collaborer avec lui à un autre plan machiavélique. • SYNOPSIS "Foolproof" : • Kevin, Sam and Rob are founding members of Foolproof, a club where, through high-tech, meticulously thought-out and executed plans, impossible heists are pulled off – in theory, that is. But all that changes when Leo, a cutthroat gangster, blackmails them into actually carrying out a multi-million-dollar robbery. Kevin, Sam and Rob have no choice – they need a foolproof plan to pull off Leo's heist and, ultimately, to get out alive.

• In "Foolproof," Kevin (Reynolds), Sam (Booth) and Rob (Jarsky), are founding members of Foolproof, a club where, through high-tech, meticulously thought-out and executed plans, impossible heists are pulled off -- all in theory, that is. But that all changes when Leo (Suchet), a cutthroat gangster, blackmails them to actually carry out a multi-million dollar robbery. Kevin, Sam and Rob have no choice - they need a foolproof plan to pull off Leo's heist, and ultimately, to get out alive. • Bill House stated: "'Foolproof' is an exciting and entertaining caper film - expertly written by William Phillips. With Phillips' evident skill as a director of nuanced performances, demonstrated in 'Treed Murray,' and a great cast featuring Ryan, David, Kristin and Joris, Alliance Atlantis and its great group of partners will deliver a film that Canadians will relate to, as will audiences from around the world. 'Foolproof' is a great ride for an audience. The ride starts here and now." • One of the hottest up-and-coming actors, Reynolds portrayed medical student ‘Michael Berg’ for four seasons on the ABC series "Two Guys and A Girl." He most recently starred as the title role in "National Lampoon’s Van Wilder," and will soon be seen with Michael Douglas and Albert Brooks in the comedy "The Wedding Party," along with David Suchet. • Suchet, one of Great Britain’s most distinguished actors, is best known in North America for his portrayal of legendary ‘Inspector Hercule Poirot’ in the television series "Agatha Christie’s Poirot," as well as through his performances in such popular features films as "A Perfect Murder," starring Michael Douglas and Gwyneth Paltrow, and "Executive Decision" with Kurt Russell and Halle Berry.
• William Phillips - Director "Foolproof" - Réalisateur "A toute epreuve"
• Although William Phillips graduated from the University of Toronto with a science degree in 1986, he then decided to enrol at Toronto’s Ryerson University in the Film Studies Programme. After graduating, he operated Grandview Products, an independent film and video production company. Phillips worked on the Canadian feature film Cube (1997), then wrote and directed the short drama Milkman, which was seen at many international film festivals and broadcast on the CBC-TV network. • Phillips completed the director’s residency at the Canadian Film Centre in 1998 and wrote and directed the short film Deep Cut as part of their Short Film Programme. Deep Cut toured international film festivals and was seen on Air Canada flights. Phillips’ first feature length film, Treed Murray (2001), was nominated for five Genie Awards, including Best Achievement in Direction and Best Motion Picture and won a Special Mention at the Mar del Plata Film Festival. • For his second feature film, Foolproof (2003), Phillips managed not only to lure up-and-coming actor Ryan Reynolds back to Canada to star in it, but also obtained the services of David Suchet, an international star due to his work as the title role in the television series Agatha Christie’s Poirot, to take a role as the villain. • Filmography: • Foolproof (2003) • Treed Murray (2001) |
A TOUTE EPREUVE
• Ryan Reynolds is "Foolproof" (A toute epreuve)
• Seaton McLean, President, Production, Alliance Atlantis Entertainment Group, announced that Ryan Reynolds ("National Lampoon's Van Wilder," "The Wedding Party") and David Suchet ("Poirot," "A Perfect Murder") are starring in William Phillips' "Foolproof," a feature film produced by Alliance Atlantis and Atom Egoyan's Ego Film Arts. Principal photography is currently underway in Toronto. • Date of Birth: October 23, 1976 • Canadian boy Reynolds hails from Vancouver, BC. The youngest of four brothers, Reynolds started acting around the age of 12 when he went with four friends to audition for a part on the series, Fifteen. After beating out 400 other hopefuls for the role of Billy Simpson, Reynolds spent the next four years filming the show (which earned him a Youth in Film Award nomination) along with other series like The Odyssey playing Marco, and guest roles on The Outer Limits, Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years and The X-Files. • His first feature credit was in the Canadian film, Ordinary Magic (1993) where he played the lead character, Jeffrey, a Canadian boy raised in India. • By the time he was 18, Reynolds moved down to L.A. to expand his résumé. After working on several telefilms including Serving the Silence: The Margarethe Cammermeyer Story and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, Reynolds landed a co-starring role on the surprise hit sitcom, Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place playing Berg. • Using the exposure from the series, Reynolds moved on to more feature film work, most notably Coming Soon (1999), Dick (1999), and Buying the Cow (2001). Reynolds took the spotlight once again after landing the lead role in the film National Lampoon's Van Wilder (2002). • Reynolds currently lives in Los Angeles with his dog, a boxer named Jobey, and is dating Canadian rock star Alanis Morrisette. • Filmography: • Harole and Kumar Go to White Castle (2004) • Blade: Trinity (2004) • School of Life (2003) • Foolproof (2003) • The Wedding Party (2003) • National Lampoon Presents Van Wilder (2002) • Buying the Cow (2001) • Finder's Fee (2000) • We All Fall Down (2000) • Dick (1999) • Coming Soon (1999) • Big Monster on Campus (1998) • Life During Wartime (1997) • Ordinary Magic (1993)
• Kristin Booth in "Foolproof" (à toute épreuve)
• Also starring in "Foolproof" are Kristin Booth ("On the L," "Detroit Rock City"), Joris Jarsky ("The Limit," "One Eyed Kings"), James Allodi ("Men With Brooms," "Dead Aviators") and David Hewlett ("Treed Murray," "Cube") • Date of Birth: August 28, 1978 • Born in Kitchener, Ontario, Kristin Booth made her acting debut at the age of 12 in a summer stock production. She continued to act throughout high school, performing in school plays. After graduating, she studied theater at Ryerson University. Some of her first jobs were with children’s theater groups, touring Ontario and Quebec. • Her television debut was playing a cheerleader on an episode of Discovery Channel’s Exhibit A, followed by roles in TV movies. Her feature film debut was a small part in Gossip (2000) starring Kate Hudson, followed by a role as a cashier in Detroit Rock City (1999), which, although filmed later, was released first. Her big break came when she landed the lead role of Tracey Grace in Daring & Grace: Teen Detectives, a 1999 Canadian TV series. Luckily, her career survived a regular role in the Canadian soap Paradise Falls (2001-2002), which was widely panned for the campy acting and terrible scripts. Booth bounced back with a number of TV movies filmed in Toronto, including A Mother’s Fight for Justice (2001) starring Meredith Baxter, Two Against Time (2002) starring Marlo Thomas, and Salem Witch Trials (2002) starring Kirstie Alley, Peter Ustinov and Shirley MacLaine. • Booth landed her first starring role in a feature with Foolproof (2003), opposite Ryan Reynolds. She currently lives in Los Angeles, having moved there in 2002. • Filmography: • Foolproof (2003) • On the Line (2001) • Gossip (2000) • Detroit Rock City (1999) | ||
